The "Don't Look Up" star, 31, confirmed on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Monday that she and her art gallerist husband Cooke Maroney, 37, have indeed welcomed their first child together.

Lawrence called into "Ellen" about a month after reports first circulated that she had given birth. "Thank you," Lawrence replied after host DeGeneres congratulated her on her new baby.

DeGeneres added that she used to live in the house that Lawrence now lives in with her baby. "Now I live next door to you, and I'm looking at you living in my house with a brand new baby,"

,"By the way, I do hear you sometimes talking to him, and it's really cute."Her representative Liz Mahoney first confirmed news of Lawrence's pregnancy to USA TODAY in early September.

In December, Lawrence opened up to Vanity Fair about her hopes to "protect" her children's privacy. "If I was at a dinner party, and somebody was like, 'Oh, my God, you're expecting a baby,'

I wouldn't be like, 'God, I can't talk about that. Get away from me, you psycho!' But every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can," she said

"I don't want anyone to feel welcome into their existence," Lawrence told the outlet. "And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work."

Lawrence and Maroney tied the knot at a mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, in October 2019. The couple began dating in the summer of 2018
